To get the best possible results in the SPSV test it is important to know the layout of the test. This means you’ll know exactly what to expect on the day of the test. Here’s how it works
The SPSV Driver Entry Test is made up of 2 sections:
- Industry Knowledge (IK)
- Area Knowledge (AK).
There are 54 questions in the Industry Knowledge section and 36 questions in the Area Knowledge section. Both sections are multiple-choice questions. The test is for a total of 120 minutes and you must score 75% or higher in each section for an overall pass. If you pass one test and not the other, don’t worry, you can sit it again, and we’ll help you get there.
3. Get to Know Your Study Material
In order to achieve the best possible score in your SPSV test (75% or more), it’s important to have a good understanding of the material in each section. Here’s what you need to do:
– Industry Knowledge
The Industry Knowledge section is all about getting to know the taxi regulations and good practice within the industry. To get the best understanding of the taxi industry The SPSV Manual Edition is the only study material you’ll need to help you pass this section. And there are lots of questions to help you practice and measure your progress through the course.
– Area Knowledge
The Area Knowledge section is all about knowing Dublin City and County. The content in this section is made up of interest, roads, one-way streets, and routes and questions to test your progress as you go through the course.
The area knowledge section has proved to be tricky for some people so here are a few tips we got from previous successful drivers
- Explore areas you’re unfamiliar with, head out for a walk or a drive.
- Know your one-way streets inside out. This is a tricky section in the exam.
- Remember it’s the shortest distance and not the quickest time
4. Test Yourself
Lynk’s driver training program has a huge selection of mini-tests for you to try. We believe it’s the best way to test your knowledge and see just how much you know and how prepared you are for the actual test.
5. Practise, Practise, Practise
As the old saying goes practice makes perfect! When sitting the test you want to be as prepared as possible and the best way to do it is with practice. Have a look through our study guides and keep testing yourself as much as you can. It will pay off when you sit your test and finally get behind the wheel.
When you’re continuously scoring around 60% across both the Industry & Area sections, you may be ready you Book your Test. But continue to study, remember you require 75% to pass. See How to Book SPSV Test.
