Lynk’s December Event Guide
Christmas FM is back on the radio, Grafton Street (not quarter) is lit up and it’s starting to feel like Christmas again. December is one of the busiest months of the year for Lynk Taxis with so much happening around Dublin City. Our December event guide covers 5 exciting events we recommend checking out over the next few weeks. Give it a read below!
1st December – 5th January
Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo
Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo was introduced a few years ago and is a spectacular night time experience! It’s a great place to bring the kids but can be enjoyed by adults just as much. This year’s theme draws inspiration from well known stories like The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and The Jungle Book. Expect thousands of breath-taking illuminated lanterns filling the Dublin Zoo walkways. End the night by watching live Chinese performers before visiting the food and drink stalls for some warming treats!
5th – 7th December
The Simon House of Light Festival
The Dublin Simon Community will once again take to the footsteps of the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre for a 3-day extravaganza this Christmas. The iconic Centre will be illuminated by a stunning light projection while the audience is treated to live music. Previous acts include The Strypes, Lucan Gospel Choir and Ailbhe Reddy so look forward to more talented artists this year! The Simon Community do amazing work for those in need around the Christmas period and it would be great to see a big turnout supporting their cause.
12th – 22nd December
Christmas in the Castle
Dublin Castle will play host to an open air market, carol singing and more festive fun this December. The courtyard of the Castle will be filled with over 30 traditional alpine market stalls. These stalls will have an array of decorative crafts and inspiring gift ideas for you last-minute shoppers. It’s free to enter so be sure to pop by the next time you’re in town.
21st December
2FM Xmas Ball
This annual concert is a great night out that also supports an important cause. The 2FM Xmas Ball takes place in 3Arena and is not to be missed. Fan-favourites Picture This are headlining along with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra with more to be announced soon. Tickets range from €39 – €44 with proceeds going to The ISPCC. Last year’s event raised almost €500,000 and it would be great to see another similar showing!
