1) Gaze International Film Festival (Thursday 30th July – Monday 3rd August)

The 23rd Gaze International LGBT Film Festival kicked off last night, Thursday 30th July, at the Light House Cinema in Dublin. There are a number of restaurants and bars around Smithfield that are also offering unique deals to festivalgoers this Bank Holiday weekend so show your ticket stub to avail of exclusive discounts.

2) The Beatyard (Saturday 1st August – Sunday 2nd August)

The Beatyard celebrated its 10th edition last year, and this weekend it goes coastal, relocating to Dun Laoghaire Harbour. This two-day event will celebrate great music, food, drinks and games across three areas: The Eatyard, The Sneakyard and The Gamesyard.

3) Smash Hits at Bray Summerfest (Sunday 2nd August)

Rock out to some classic 90s tunes at The Hits free gig this Sunday 2nd August on Bray’s iconic bandstand. The band return for the annual event of madness and banter that is Bray Summerfest, and will be taking the stage from 9.30pm.

4) Fiestaval: Temple Bar Food Festival (Sunday 2nd August – Monday 3rd August)

This year marks the inaugural Fiestaval, a celebration of all things foody in Temple Bar. The event will feature treats from some of the best local restaurants, including The Boxty House, The Chameleon and Bar Pinxto. Families can enjoy free entertainment, including games, face painting and a live DJ as Meeting House Square transforms into an urban picnic area.

5) Castlepalooza (Friday 31st July – Sunday 2nd August)

For those of you jetsetting out of Dublin this weekend, Castlepalooza Music and Arts Festival takes place in the wooded wonderland of Charleville Lodge, Tullamore. Nialler 9 and Fight Like Apes are just some of the amazing acts that make up this year’s line up.

6) Galway Racing Festival (Monday 27th July – Sunday 2nd August)

This famous week in the Irish Racing Calendar boasts top racing, amazing fashion, delicious food and an electric atmosphere of fun. Highlights of the Summer Festival include Ladies Day (which was on Thursday), Friday’s Fair Lady, Ladbrokes Day, and Family Day, including the very popular Mad Hatters Competition.
