5 things for Zlatan to do & see in Tallaght

Shamrock Rovers have been handed a difficult task of taking on AC Milan in the second round of qualifying for the Europa League.

The game will take place in Tallaght Stadium as the European giants play a Dublin side for the first time. What would usually be a sell-out crowd, the game will be played behind closed doors due to COVID restrictions still being in place.

As AC Milan arrive in Dublin to play on Thurs 17th September (7pm) we’ve put together a list of the top 5 things for Zlatan to do & see when he arrives. All recommended by our local Tallaght drivers.

1. The Bread Shop

After a long flight we reckon Zlatan might be a bit hungry. Plane grub isn’t always the best, so we recommend the team drop into The Bread Shop in Old Bawn. They serve top quality breakfast rolls, cooking and preparing each ingredient to your exact order. They also have an extensive range of pastry, cakes and other sweets for the players who might need a sugar rush.

2. The Square

Spread over 3 floors, The Square is a fantastic shopping centre that has everything one might need. Packed full of sport shops, it’s a perfect place for Zlatan to pick up new boots and shin guards before the game. Motion Picture also has a closing down sale so pop in and grab some crosshatch jeans and top for half price.

If the players have time, we recommend an hour in Atari Expo. Convert your cash into coins and try and win big! There’s a few sharks up there, so bet smart.

The Square car park also allows free match day parking on regular League of Ireland match days! Great for when things return to normal and fans are allowed into the stadium again.

3. Leisureplex Tallaght

The perfect spot to go bond with team mates the day before a big game! Break up into teams, put the bumpers up and head down for a game of bowling in the Leisureplex Tallaght. If bowling isnt for Zlatan, there’s a load of different video games, coin games and pool to keep him occupied.

We recommend a doubles games of Time Crisis.

4. The Dragon Pub

Pop in for a toasty and a pint of the black stuff. A booking might be required, but isnt essential. Zlatan should visit this bar after the game whatever the result may be. A lovely spot to relax, chat about the game and spend time with the AC Milan squad. After a few pints, head over to Macaris for bags of chips and a batter saussy.

The Dragon is located in the centre of Tallaght village just on the main street.

5. The Maldron Hotel

This hotel is so close that a shot off target might end up on your balcony. The hotel looks directly over the Rovers stadium and is a great spot to soak up the pre-match atmosphere and pints. We’ve heard rumours that a few fans have booked rooms in the hotel to try and sneak a view of the game.

The hotel is equipped with a restaurant, bar, pool and nearby gym.
